MAFIA PREMIER LEAGUE BY K.VIJAYAKARTHIKEYAN

To read and promote Indian books is always a delight. Being a huge cricket fan and this being the IPL season, I realised it was perfect for me to read this book.

This book is about a cricket league happening in Mumbai for the first time. The Dongri dragons team is owned by MM who is also an infamous drug dealer. He ropes in Vivank, a past cricketing superstar who had a failed career due to drug abuse, as the team coach. They are under the constant radar of Zia, a daring cop who wants to bring out the drug dealings involved in the world of cricketing. It all comes down to Zia and MM facing each other finally and only one can survive. Will Vivank who managed to leave behind his past and start a new career be entangled in this chaos?

PROS: very beginner friendly - neatly written when maintaining the flow of the story.

The twists and turns at the end were unpredictable.

A quick read.

People who like cricket and sports fiction will be able to connect to the story well.

Covers the unknown realm hidden behind the happy looking cricketing world.

CONS: few characters were out of place and felt unnecessary to the plot.

Some over the top characters and exaggerated stereotypes.

Was lacking depth though the writing shows the immense potential of the author.
