NEWBORN BABIES, LITTLE ENIGMAS BY DR. R. P. BANSAL

This is a self help book regarding the common problems faced in new born. Dr. R.P. Bansal is a famous Indian paediatrician and this book is his way of educating his patients and other people regarding child care. Reading this book felt very nostalgic to me. It took me back to the days of my paediatric internship when this was all commonly seen everyday in the ward.

The book is divided neatly into many chapters of common newborn physiological conditions, the conditions that should worry the parents, health issues faced during toddler and adolescent stage. It covers entirely from newborn care, breast feeding, physiological issues to paediatric diseases.

PROS: Every medical condition is explained in simple and understandable terms.

This book is a myth buster - It’s common for new parents to be worried regarding every symptom that develops in a neonate. Hence, they end up consulting google treatments or self medicate or follow home remedies which may be harmful. This book has given a clear picture of every condition, so you can avoid all the above mentioned situations.

This may even be helpful for paramedics and midwives.

Pretty cover page and indexed very well for quick reference.

The author has also shared several case scenarios and case studies for references.

CONS: This is a must read for new parents or parents to be or to anyone who has kids at home (to all the uncles and aunts) or around. I am not being partial but this book is perfect for this genre.

My review: 5/5
