PURSUIT DRAWN BY DESTINY BY POOJA PODDAR MARWAH

This book is about two expatriates who are now living in Mumbai, India. Kate Princeton is in her thirties and is a successful businesswoman. She is the CEO of an event management company, the Semicircle Entertainment. As much as Kate finds success in her career, she remains unlucky in love. She meets her clients Mr. Edward Scott and Mrs. Natasha Scott during a business event. She is immediately attracted towards Edward even though he is married.

Kate is confused between her intuitive feelings and reality. Will she find the one she needed in her life in Ed or is it just another failed relationship on the line?

PROS: The book is very fast paced and easy to comprehend. Its perfect for beginners as well. The author does not mince her words or beat around the bush and she conveys what she wants exactly.

It's a quick read - You can grab this as a lazy day read or on days when you need a quick feel good book.

If you need books with strong female protagonist, then this book is definitely for you. I absolutely loved the way the author has described Kate as a character. She was strong, fierce, independent and she was driving the world around her on her own.

This is for all the romance lovers with a little bit of Bollywood style, felt like a perfect screenplay material.

It is for the readers who love the friends to enemies to lovers trope.

The cover of the book is very beautiful and intriguing.

The descriptive writing of the book is very good.

CONS: So, there are a few things that are not for me in the book. First, there were many lines that were against body positivity.

The protagonist being a strong woman, I was not okay with undermining other woman characters who are equally strong headed.

And I definitely did not like the out of marriage romance trope. Even before Kate knew about Natasha's personal life, she was already swooning over Edward and probably putting Natasha's character as the cause for his mutual attraction towards her. Woman putting down another woman - a big No No! And I did not like the lack of consent in the romance between Ed and Kate.

Quite a few lines felt repetitive and dragging.

A lot of cliches could have been avoided as well.
