BOOK REVIEW

Today, I am sharing with you all a work from one of my favourite Indian authors, a good friend and a wonderful human. If you have been following me for quite a while, you would know how much I loved her ‘The Storyteller’ back in 2022, and it ended up among the top 5 reads for me that year. I am also currently reading and enjoying one of her other works, and I thought it would be the perfect time for me to share about this.

Smitten is a collection of her poems that are based on all moods and seasons. The book is divided into six parts and has a total of almost 150 poems; yes, you heard it right. 157, to be precise, and not one repeats itself. Among the many, The monsoon blues, nonchalant race, paper dolls, and undesired metamorphosis resonated greatly with me. There are so many others that were very palpable and powerful. The book has love, loss, desire, strength, perseverance, and many more emotions.

I was reading this over a few days, and with every poem, I could see my mind adapt to its tune. This book will cater to every reader with something or another, and I would say that for people who love poetry, this book must be a possession.

MY REVIEW: 5/5
