LADY DOCTORS BY KAVITHA RAO

Image
This book has to be the best non fiction work I have read so far. It is a compilation of the fighting and inspiring stories of six different Indian women in the field of medicine. This book is the biography of the greatest women doctors starting from Anandibai Joshi, kadambini Ganguly, Rukhmabai Raut, Haimabati Sen, Muthulakshmi Reddy to Mary Poonam Lukose. This book was inspiring throughout. I was pained to read their struggles of being trapped in child marriage, how men thought women entering medicine is a threat, how some of them were called names, how they had to face racism, their difficulty in handling both family and duties, getting rejected for positions even when they were better qualified than men. I had tears of joy reading how they crossed all these odds to reach where they were meant to be. PROS : It’s highly inspirational. If you are looking for an inspiring non fiction book, then this is a must read. It’s a well researched book. The facts and biographies have been taken ...

Image
This is a self help book regarding the common problems faced in new born. Dr. R.P. Bansal is a famous Indian paediatrician and this book is his way of educating his patients and other people regarding child care. Reading this book felt very nostalgic to me. It took me back to the days of my paediatric internship when this was all commonly seen everyday in the ward. The book is divided neatly into many chapters of common newborn physiological conditions, the conditions that should worry the parents, health issues faced during toddler and adolescent stage. It covers entirely from newborn care, breast feeding, physiological issues to paediatric diseases. PROS: Every medical condition is explained in simple and understandable terms. This book is a myth buster - It’s common for new parents to be worried regarding every symptom that develops in a neonate. Hence, they end up consulting google treatments or self medicate or follow home remedies which may be harmful. This book has given a clear...

He ropes in Vivank, a past cricketing superstar who had a failed career due to drug abuse, as the team coach. They are under the constant radar of Zia, a daring cop who wants to bring out the drug dealings involved in the world of cricketing. It all comes down to Zia and MM facing each other finally and only one can survive. Will Vivank who managed to leave behind his past and start a new career be entangled in this chaos? THE HATE U GIVE BY ANGIE THOMAS

Image
" AT AN EARLY AGE I LEARNED THAT PEOPLE MAKE MISTAKES, AND YOU HAVE TO DECIDE IF THEIR MISTAKES ARE BIGGER THAN YOUR LOVE FOR THEM. " " BRAE DOESN'T MEAN YOU'RE NOT SCARED. IT MEANS YOU GO ON EVEN THOUGH YOU'RE SCARED. " It’s been a long time since I read a proper black history book. The hate u give has stayed in my TBR for quite a long time now until I finally decided to pick it up. This book has been listed as urban fiction but doesn’t really look like a work of fiction at all. It’s real, it has happened and it’s happening even now.! This book revolves around Starr, a 16 year old teenager, whose parents strive hard every day to give their children a normal life. She lives simultaneously in two different worlds, one in her school ‘Garden heights’ among her other American friends and the other one, where she is scared to pass on every day just to survive. Both of her world changes when she becomes the prime witness of a racial violence and murder of her ...

According to WHO, human health is a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing. Out of which mental health is the most commonly ignored part of a human’s wellbeing in the world, especially in India.
